Volunteer Ministry Opportunities
Over the next year, the Stewardship Committee will share many opportunities for persons to use their talents and gifts in ministry. All of the opportunities shared are important parts of the life changing ministry of St. Luke. Each opportunity listed needs volunteers to take on the ministry. Our prayer is that you will carefully, thoughtfully and prayerfully look at these ministry opportunities as calls to mission and ministry in your life and will respond to the one that best suits your gifts and talents.
Children’s Ministries
Children’s Church is a learning time during the Sunday morning worship service for children beginning at age 3 and prior to entering Kindergarten. Each Sunday morning, following the Children’s Time during morning worship, children are dismissed to a room on the children’s floor where a volunteer tells or reads a Bible based story and leads a craft activity designed specifically for this age child. Materials are provided each week for the volunteer and include a coloring sheet from the worship service, a story and at least two crafts from which the volunteer can choose. No experience is required but a love of children, patience, and a willingness to offer a small amount of time for preparation and during one worship service on rotation is necessary. This ministry is designed to assist children begin to learn the habits of worship with the understanding that children do not sit comfortably for long periods of time. Volunteers in this ministry are helping children establish a life time of worship habits as well as the joy of knowing adults within the community of the faithful.
